Hi Adigun,

If you're batch loading items without files, or wanting to edit existing 
item metadata in bulk, an easy and powerful way is to use the Batch 
Metadata Editing tool which allows you to export CSVs of metadata and 
import changes/additions/deletions.

If you need to batch load a large set of items with files, you could look 
at the Simple Archive Format importer or the packager (AIP, SIP etc) -- I'd 
suggest the Simple Archive Format is the easiest to start with -- you could 
script or generate the XML metadata into the structure documented below, 
then load it all in.
