Dear Maria, you caould use DSpace-CRIS to manage hierarchical metadata (at the moment plain DSpace cannot do it). You customize the input form then map the DDI on the OAI-PMH. If you need more detail please consult https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACECRIS/Nested+metadata+in+DSpace+items
