Hi group,

I'm hoping to clarify what changes I need to cover ahead of a migration.

Several years ago we imported works from another institution into our
existing Dspace 3.x install. On import, these items retained their existing
Handle prefix and item IDs.

   - Our prefix = http://hdl.handle.net/*11205/*xxxxx.
   - Example item in our repository =
   https://mruir.mtroyal.ca/xmlui/handle/1880/46703
   - Original item we imported = http://hdl.handle.net/1880/46703

There are ~50 items like this. We feel we update these items to use our
Handle prefix.

I understand that we can update the existing Handle prefixes
<https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC3x/Installation#Installation-UpdatingExistingHandlePrefixes>
for
these items, then batch-update related metadata (e.g., dc.identifier.uri).

Is this is the best way to make this kind of change? Will there be any
problems (now or in the future) from updating the Handle prefix but not the
item ID? Any other changes we'd need to make as part of this?

Thanks in advance,
Richard
