April 30, 2020 Beginning in May, LYRASIS and the DSpace community will present a series of webinars focused on how DSpace is meeting the emerging needs of institutions around the world as they respond to the challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic. The webinars will highlight examples of how DSpace repositories have quickly adapted to provide critical infrastructure required during this crisis: integrating DSpace with other platforms; strengthening Open Access; creating new research collections; engaging with off-campus users; supporting cultural heritage; enhancing user experiences; dealing with a high volume of access, and more. The weekly webinar series, “Repositories During the COVID-19 Pandemic,” begins on Thursday May 7 at 9AM EDT, 1:00 UTC and be offered on subsequent Thursdays (May 14, May 21 and May 28) at the same time. Translated recordings will be made openly available after each webinar. Registration information will be available prior to the weekly webinar. On May 7 the first Repositories During the COVID-19 Pandemic webinar will be “DSpace as A Collaborative knowledge Hub for Mitigating Distance Learning Challenges During the Pandemic”, presented by Dr. Amrender Kumar Jha, Program Head – KrishiKosh<https://krishikosh.egranth.ac.in/>, (Principal Scientist – Agricultural Statistics), Indian Agricultural Research Institute in collaboration with DSquare Technologies, New Delhi (Service Partner Krishikosh and DuraSpace Registered Service Provider). KrishiKosh<https://krishikosh.egranth.ac.in/> is the Open Access knowledge bank for more than 80 agriculture institutions from India having more 201k items / 40 million pages. The Head of the Program will share how they transformed their DSpace Institutional repository into a Collaborative knowledge hub to help institutions in mitigating challenges faced in Distance learning during pandemic times.
