We may need more specific information about what you want to do. A quick search on "UNESCO Subjects Classification" turned up ISCED and SKOS, and I would not be surprised to find other systems. I've heard of interest in SKOS with respect to DSpace, but at a glance it seems to be too deep for DC. -- Mark H.
