Hi, A 500 error means that there is an error occurring on your backend. You will need to look in the DSpace logs and/or Tomcat logs for information on why the backend is erroring out.
Check our Troubleshooting guide for more hints on locating errors on the backend: https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSPACE/Troubleshoot+an+error#Troubleshootanerror-DSpace7.x(orabove) Once you find the error, I'd recommend checking our Common Install Issues as it's possible you are hitting one of those. https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC7x/Installing+DSpace#InstallingDSpace-CommonInstallationIssues If you need more help, let us know on this mailing list.
