Hi Tim, As you yourself noted, in the webinar we will talk also about the DSpace-ORCID integration, highlighting the differences and what can still be improved looking to DSpace-CRIS. The webinar aims to reduce the gap for the ORCID integration in DSpace. Unfortunately, as you know some features like configurable entities were not considered enough stable in DSpace to enable them out-of-box and this makes enabling the ORCID integration a bit more difficult.
We like to remind that DSpace-CRIS is open source and the same DSpace license is applied to the DSpace-CRIS codebase. A lot of features have been contributed and are going to be contributed back by 4Science, other service providers and volunteers in the community to the main DSpace. That is why we encourage people from the DSpace community to attend, to learn and see the features that can be applied to their DSpace repository. As the leading developer for DSpace, with almost 100k dollars' worth of hours donated to the community in 2023 ( https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSPACE/Service+Providers), we strive to empower the DSpace community and keep the platform up-to-date. We would like to discuss more about what is really needed by the community: the concept of Configurable Entities introduced in DSpace-CRIS back in 2006 took almost 10 years to find its way in DSpace. We hope that increasing the general awareness about available open-source solutions applicable to DSpace, the whole community can help us to speed up the innovation process in DSpace.
