My colleague Philip sent this to me because we're also working on replacing
thumbnails. I can't tell from the email text which character you have in
the parameter before the handle. We're using a lowercase "eye" - "-i".  If
you want you can also try without the -p "ImageMagick PDF Thumbnail" just
for your test item.
