Hi, Unfortunately, we don't have enough information about your setup to help. Have you followed the installation instructions for DSpace 8 at : https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC8x/Installing+DSpace? If so, did you choose to install Tomcat separately, or are you using the (new) Runnable JAR (with embedded Tomcat)?
When you start the backend, are you seeing any errors?
