Hi Ben, To stop DSpace from full-text indexing any content, you should be able to set the "textextractor.max-chars = 0" (or some other very small number). https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/blob/main/dspace/config/dspace.cfg#L513
This setting defines how much of the text to index when using full-text indexing. I believe you can set it to zero to disable it. See also the docs for MediaFilter configurations at https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC7x/Mediafilters+for+Transforming+DSpace+Content#MediafiltersforTransformingDSpaceContent-Configurationparameters Tim On Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 6:45:43 AM UTC-5 Ben Parkes wrote: > Hello, > > > > I am trying to better understand the DS7/8 search result indexing and stop > full text searching in an instance of DS7.6. > > > > I believe stopping full text indexing and searching is done by either > setting the full-text <field> indexed and stored parameters to "false" or > by commenting the whole <field> before rebuilding the index. > > > > My issue is that in my instance I have a use case where I the search > results are not displaying in the desired order.
