You are invited to participate in a workshop gathering feedback on potential integrations between DSpace and other applications or frameworks. This workshop is part of the CST interoperability project <https://lyrasis.org/the-lyrasis-organizational-home-launches-the-cst-interoperability-project/>. This project, funded by the Lyrasis Board, is one of several Lyrasis efforts <https://lyrasis.org/lyrasis-is-strengthening-the-foundations-of-the-organizational-home/> in support of the Community Supported Technologies (CSTs) that make use of the Lyrasis Organizational Home. (The Organizational Home provides the legal and operational infrastructure for CSTs, and currently includes DSpace, as well as 4 other programs, ArchivesSpace, CollectionSpace, Fedora and VIVO. ) The overall goal of the CST Interoperability project is to expand the adoptability, usability, and interoperability potential of each of these technologies. The current phase of the project calls for the identification of workflows and development of technical specifications for application integrations, with each CST, including DSpace, benefitting from inclusion in at least one workflow. Select specifications will be completed by summer 2026. Lyrasis intends to fund implementation of the selected specifications in a separate phase of the project. In deciding which specifications to develop we will pick those that are of most value to the community and most likely to be able to be implemented with the available funding. Jess Farrell, Consultant on the CST Interoperability project, and owner of Redstart Works consulting, will lead a brainstorming workshop on integrations to help inform the selection process. We recognize that there are challenges in developing a technical specification involving DSpace at this time, given the news of the DSpace and DSpace-CRIS merger, but we want to make sure the DSpace community has an opportunity to share their interests and ideas. Think about your workflows and what types of integrations would benefit your users and your work. Your participation and feedback will help identify candidate workflows for development. There are several time slots available across time zones. Note that this is a cross-community offering, and there may be people from other Lyrasis CSTs (DSpace, CollectionSpace, VIVO, Fedora, and ArchivesSpace).
