Dear DCAT community, We are moving the Test Plan platform for the Testathon for next year (2027) from a spreadsheet format <https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-CwE6WwqDqGawZoc1y5SBZOAlMxtuUIwCTrw_wUcDg0/edit> to GitHub issues and are looking for some DCAT community members to join a task force to help with this. This change of platform will help with organizing and describing the tests and will also provide a better way for multiple people to run the same tests and provide feedback.
Holger Lenz and Lia Eggleston are already working on establishing the working space in the DSpace GitHub account. They are also creating some initial examples of tests in GitHub and documenting the process of moving tests from the spreadsheet into GitHub so that others can help with this process. Task force members will not be responsible for the whole process for any of these tasks and we are asking that you be willing to dedicate some time to help with some (but not all) of the following tasks: 1. Help move individual tests from the spreadsheet to a corresponding GitHub issue 2. Help with training and documentation for this new Testathon format 3. Help update test descriptions to make them more clear and understandable 4. Help with other tasks or projects as time or skill allow The Task Force will meet outside of the regular DCAT meetings to discuss and work on the projects listed above. The timing will most likely be a monthly meeting with opportunities to work on items offline as time and interest allow. Please email me with any questions and let me know if you are willing to join the Task Force to work on this important project.
