Hi Larry,
using the Metadata Generator in installItem was just an example of how it could
be used. The base idea is to create a certain Metadata (value, qualifier) for a
given DSpace Object dynamically, which can not be added via templates and
should not be created manually. It might be used at any point during or post
ingest.
