The @MIRE Solr based statistics engine addon for DSpace will be provided as an 
Addon Module within the http://scm.dspace.org/svn/repo/modules as several 
projects working in concert to appropriate log usage events and supply a query 
engine on to of capable of support a rich faceted query syntax across the usage 
event history for a dspace instance. It will include the following modules

A generic instance of solr running as a webapplication within dspace, this 
instance will be configured multicore and able to support the creation of new 
cores for various purposes in dspace (search/faceted browse), (statistics 
aggregation), (history change tracking) and (administrative search of Users, 
Groups and Policies).

A modules containing UsageEvent and EventConsumer implementations capable of 
logging events to the Solr Logging Engine.

A reporting suite overlay for DSpace UI's capable of show anonymous usage
