Flávio Botelho commented on DS-311:
-----------------------------------
Let me ellaborate a little bit more, i had to hack some support for dates are
they are not properly being searched.
the :date in dspace.cfg is making them be transformed into lexicographic
ordered strings, and when searching the user input is not transformed into this
lexicographic order.
One solution would be to have the field duplicated, one with the :date and
another without for the search, but i feel that is a shortcoming of the current
api.
> DSQuery should use the Query hierarchy to create the Query object instead of
> relying onto QueryParser

> That would allow us to use easily range queries and whatever.
> It's just strange to create a string for it to parsed, when you have all the
> info to create the Query itself properly.
