It should be usable and is maintained in the svn repository.  Having the
community trying out would give us an opportunity to explore if it should be
part of a future release.

How I would use this project:

1.) Check it out of svn
2.) run mvn install
3.) Create an overlay project like others found in:

http://scm.dspace.org/svn/repo/dspace/tags/dspace-1.5.2/dspace/modules/

or in this case, against the trunk

http://scm.dspace.org/svn/repo/dspace/trunk/dspace/modules/

And build DSpace with the module added to modules/pom.xml

Voice any concerns in relation to this thread, or better yet, open a JIRA
ticket to identify any shortcomings you experience.

I'm not sure about the auth mechanism currently used, perhaps you can query
the GSoC student or Aaron to comment on that.
