This issue was reviewed during the DSpace Developer meeting on Dec 9, 2009.
Consensus was that this is a great idea, but that it's likely too late to add
into 1.6.0 (but hopefully for 1.6.1 or a version thereafter). MIT has
evidently already started working on the issue and is currently developing a
fix/patch (led by Sands Fish, I believe). We will leave this issue open until
a patch is available and committed.
