All, I was just informed that our DSpace Developer meeting that took place yesterday (Weds, Jan 20) unfortunately was not logged as usual. So, in lieu of a full meeting transcript, here's a quick summary of what we discussed.
The primary focus of the meeting was updates on DSpace 1.6.0, and the final fixes necessary before we can release a 1.6.0 RC2 (release candidate 2). * As of this moment, we still have 17 unresolved issues to fix before 1.6.0RC2 can happen: http://jira.dspace.org/jira/browse/DS/fixforversion/10020 * The good news is that at least 10 of those issues are just documentation related. Our documentation guru, Jeffrey Trimble, is leading that charge and helping us all have better release documentation. * During the meeting we went through each unresolved issue to get updates on the status, and make sure we all had a good sense of what was left to complete, whether help was needed, etc. * Each issue was assigned to someone who will have time to work on it and finish it within the next week. We set a goal of completing these issues by next Weds, Jan 27. * Assuming we are able to all meet our goals of resolving these issues by next Weds, we hope to release 1.6.0 RC2 sometime on Friday, Jan 29. Again, this is still just a goal, but we are all confident that it's a very attainable goal. * As I've mentioned previously, after we release 1.6.0 RC2, we'd have a second testing period (about a week). Assuming the testing goes well, we'd release 1.6.0 final immediately. So, it seems like we are still on track to release 1.6.0 sometime in mid-February. If any other developers have anything to add from the meeting, feel free. Let me know if there are any questions/comments on what we discussed in yesterday's meeting.
