Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: Search Group: 1.4 >Status: Closed >Resolution: Out of Date Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Richard Jones (richard-jones) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Unbalanced brackets cause search error Initial Comment: If you perform a search on a title which has an unbalanced bracket pair in it, such as the following (valid) string: "Emery-Dreifuss Muscular Dystrophy (EDMD" The page displays an "Invalid Search String" error. Since this string appears exactly as above as a substring of a real title in our archive, we feel that this is a bug, and that logical constructions such as paramaterising searches need to take this into account. The fix might be as simple as to pre-wrap search strings with quote marks (which has the desired effect). I will post to the devel list to see if anyone has any particular thoughts on this. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=119984&aid=1604365&group_id=19984 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ThinkGeek and WIRED's GeekDad team up for the Ultimate GeekDad Father's Day Giveaway.
