Summary: unnecessary ldap.enable

Initial Comment:
Now that LDAP is supported as part of the stackable
authentication, it seems unnecessary to include ldap.
enable as a configuration parameter. Addition of the
LDAPAuthenticator to the stackable authentication
methods ought to implicitly indicate that it is turned
on.

Also, it would be a nice idea to include the
LDAPAuthentication class in the config as an example so
that people know it is there and can add it to the
stack quickly and easily. i.e. have the classname
there, but comment it out.

Cheers

Richard

This is my first comment on SourceForge - dunno how this works but here
goes.

I've installed 1.4.1 on a Win XP. All is working and better than it did on
my Linux.

I'm having the same problem as asnicar. I have ldap_enabled = true in my
Dspace.cfg file and all the ldap details filled in. After days of agony I
finally got DSpace to talk to my Active Directory. Finally.

But no matter what I do when I press "My DSpace" on the front page I
always get the password-login servlet instead of the ldap-login. You can
manually type it in of course... I don't want to hardcode this link in the
servlet and any advice regarding this would be very helpful.

I've also got to access many OU's in my Active Directory (it's a strange
setup I guess) - has anybody done that?

best regards, Logi

I have installed the release 1.4 and use LDAP authentication.

when I try to enter on MyDSpace page, the system shows me
the password-login page (servlet).
If I fill it with my LDAP username & pwd the authentication
fails!
but, If I load (manually) the ldap-login page (servlet) and
retry it works fine.

so it seems that ldap is not stacked, or perhaps I have
mistaken something....
some ideas?

ciao,
 FA_
