Summary: Items Mapper has memory issue for a large collection
Initial Comment:
The Items Mapper under dspace-admin UI / Collection
home page gave me java.lang.OutOfMemoryError. The
problem appears under the following programs:
ItemMapServlet.java
Protected void doDSPost()

.
.
ItemIterator i= myCollection.getItems(); *** note: we
have 18590 items While (i.hasNext()) {
item myItem = i.next();
.
.
.
I used the NetBeans to debug the program and I found
that it went through:
1) 10487 records on a computer with 256 MB of RAM
and JAVA_OPTS=-Xmx128m -Xms128m.
2) 15326 records on a computer with 512 MB of RAM
and JAVA_OPTS=-Xmx256m -Xms256m.
