Hi all,

Tim Donohue and I were recently talking and thought it would be a good
idea to begin sending regular pings about the DSpace and Fedora dev
meetings to *both* the dspace-devel and fcrepo-dev lists. We hope
this will help members of the respective communities to have a good
awareness of what's going on at large, and will help lead to some good
cross-team discussions down the road.

For those not yet familiar with the Fedora Repository committer
meetings: We hold an open meeting every Tuesday at 15:00 UTC (11am US
Eastern Time).  Usually these are focused on getting updates on what
people have been working on lately, as well as reviewing
newly-submitted issues. Often, instead of a regular developer meeting,
we hold a "Special Topic" meeting. The format of these meetings
varies, but generally involves a discussion of a particular area of
interest to the Fedora development community. We invite you to come
and participate, or just listen in. The agenda and notes of each of
these meetings can always be found here:

This week's meeting will be a Special Topic discussion about High
Level Storage -- a proposal for an improved storage abstraction in
Fedora. We'll have a quick review of the idea and where it's at, and
the remainder of the meeting will focus on logistics of moving the
work forward. As usual, all are welcome to attend. For more
information on this meeting and how to attend, please see:

Notes from last week's (Sept 21st) meeting are available here:

Thanks,
