Tim Donohue commented on DS-832:
--------------------------------

This issue received a quick review in DSpace Developers Meeting on July 6.

Currently, the Developers feel this add-on may be a potential candidate for our
Asynchronous release ideas
(https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACE/Asynchronous+Release). So,
discussion of this add-on's specifics have been 'tabled' for now, as we
determine how best to support third-party add-ons via asynchronous release
processes (or similar). Essentially, we are working on ways to make it easier
to install add-ons/modules into DSpace. This may mean that DSpace in the
future would come with a variety of options for Statistics engines, and admins
could decide which Statistics engine they would like to install into their
DSpace instance.

All of the data generated in your IT infrastructure is seriously valuable.
Why? It contains a definitive record of application performance, security
threats, fraudulent activity, and more. Splunk takes this data and makes
sense of it. IT sense. And common sense.
