I have no idea where its source code resides -- doesn't seem to be in the
DSpace SVN, unless I'm overlooking it. Perhaps the source code is somewhere
with TDL, as the last maven release of this custom Cocoon code was around the
time that TDL gave XMLUI to the DSpace Community.
I've got a line out to the Vireo community too, so hopefully I'll hear
something along these lines. Thanks for digging.
NOTE: In current versions of DSpace, these dependencies no longer exist.
They've been replaced by dependencies on 'org.apache.cocoon'.

In DSpace 1.8, the only part of Cocoon that we still need a custom version of
is the 'dspace-cocoon-servlet-service-impl' whose source code is at:

Not sure if any of this will be of help to you, to be honest. But, perhaps the
Vireo platform dependencies need an update to be along the line of current
versions of DSpace?
I believe their more recent work is lining Vireo up with more recent versions
of DSpace, so I don't believe it will be an issue for long. I'm trying to add
in some logging for actual useful sitemap/pipeline tracing, spurred by trouble
debugging some behavior in the XMLUI in Vireo, so my solution should roughly
apply to most other versions of Cocoon. If the patching turns out well, I'll
share it with the list. I know a lot of my time debugging the XMLUI is spent
digging through opaque Cocoon stack-traces.
