Bram Luyten (@mire) commented on DS-1349:
-----------------------------------------
The current implementation covers these usecases:
- Versioning history fully exposed: useful where the repository is used in an
intranet environment or where the responsible admin is a generic info@ or
repository@. As you indicate, not useful when admin eperson accounts contain
personal details.
- Versioning history admin-only viewable: to be set by
item.history.view.admin=false in versioning.cfg
We agree that there might be a use for an intermediate solution in which you
want to expose version history, but not the entire personal data. But we are
not able to provide this type of enhancement/improvement right now.
Given that the current implementation is "by design" I would suggest to change
type to improvement, and schedule for a newer version.
> Item level versioning exposes personal data (name and email of submitter,
> versioning creator)

> In the Version history the name and email of the submitter are shown to all
> users. This will collide with the privacy law of some countries and is not
> consistent with the way we have treated similar information like provenance
> up til now.
