Hardy, I'm not sure I understand the problem you described, but I don't think
it applies to my auth stack:
plugin.sequence.org.dspace.authenticate.AuthenticationMethod = \
org.dspace.authenticate.LDAPAuthentication, \
org.dspace.authenticate.PasswordAuthentication
In this case, when I log in via LDAP and even if the ePerson already exists
(has been created using autoregistration), the group assigned by
getSpecialGroups() works just fine.
I'm not saying the problem doesn't exist, you should just narrow down its
specification.
