Hi João (and All), Currently, we are just accepting ideas for projects (and mentor volunteers). Any project ideas can just be added to the wiki page at: https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/GSOC/DSpace+Summer+of+Code+Ideas
This is just the initial stage of preparation for Google Summer of Code. There's no guarrantee yet that any of these projects will happen. We're just at a brainstorming phase. Here's essentially the next steps in the GSoC process: 1. First, we need to gather project ideas/brainstorms and possible mentors (this is what we are doing now) 2. Then, DuraSpace will apply for Google Summer of Code 2013, based on this initial list of possible projects 3. If our GSoC application is accepted, then we will be able to start looking for possible students to implement these projects (and we can also add new project ideas if they come up) 4. We'd then receive applications from students for projects that interest them. We'd choose which students we'd want to accept. 5. Then, the project work would happen over the summer (starting in June and ending in Sept). Each student would develop their project with guidance from their mentor(s). Google has more information on the exact deadlines/dates for everything on the GSoC homepage: http://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/homepage/google/gsoc2013 Let me know if there are any other questions, or if anything isn't clear! - Tim On 2/28/2013 6:32 PM, João Melo wrote: > Hi Tim, > > we are willing to write our name on the list with one specific project > (which follows the defined rules). > Where can we gather more info about this?
