I've often wondered this myself, Mark. Thus far, I cannot think of any 
long-term value to the Cocoon logs. They are mostly useful if you need 
to debug an issue in the XMLUI.

So, I'd agree, we may want to change that log4j default setting. Put in 
a JIRA ticket perhaps?
