The general consensus was that this seems like useful work, however there were
a few questions:
1. It seems like there should be an option to "disable" this Sharing and Export
Bar, if a site doesn't want it Or even an option to disable *just* the sharing
parts (but allow for exports) or visa versa? This is especially important since
there's a dependency on the XOAI interface built into the export functionality.
If a site doesn't want to enable OAI-PMH, they would need to disable this bar,
or minimally disable the "export" parts.
2. Does this single bar really need two separate config files (exports.cfg and
sharingbar.cfg)? Since both configs are for the same feature, it seems like
they should be merged into a single configuration file (for ease of
setup/configuration). Also, these config files need comments -- currently
they have no documentation or comments as to what the settings mean.
3. It'd be nice if someone could work on an XMLUI version too (not required for
acceptance of this work, but nice to have if we can find a volunteer)
4. Also might be nice to consider how the export functionality relates to the
3.0 "Importing of Bibliographic Formats" work. This again is not required for
acceptance. Just would be good to eventually ensure that the import & export
functionality work on similar formats, etc. That way someone could export
BibTex/EndNote from one DSpace and import it into another. Importing
