Hi Geanina, I think you're confusing the traditional embargo (since 1.6) and the new simple embargo (since 3.0). The new embargo sets resource policies with specific start and end dates, and therefore works without the need for a cron job. Only the traditional embargo requires you to define a setter/lifter and to schedule the lifter in a cron job. If you want to enable simple embargo, the only thing you need to modify is to comment out Step 4 and uncomment Step 4 with embargo in [dspace]/config/item-submission.xml. Then you'll see the new options in that submission step.
