Solr spews a lot of log entries in its normal working, and they wind
up in Tomcat's logs, making it hard to see anything else that is
happening with Tomcat.

https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS-1460

Has anyone time to comment on effort to make dspace-solr use log4j and
the main DSpace log4j configuration, so we can divert this flood to
another file and perhaps quiet it down a bit?

https://github.com/DSpace/dspace-solr/pull/3

This approach will need a release of dspace-solr before DSpace itself
can be adjusted to use it. If people think this is a good idea, I
hope to get a dspace-solr release out in time that the rest of the
work could go into DSpace 4.0.
