Please note that my Solr implementation conforms to the ItemCountDAO interface, which makes one call per container even if there are multiple containers being queried per page (which is a common use case). It's worth investigating whether extending this interface to query multiple containers per method call (and in turn, a single Solr query) would have performace benefits.

If webui.strengths.show = true, it's recommended to set webui.strengths.cache = true, otherwise the number of items in collections/communities are counted in database when a page is displayed.
When Discovery is enabled, the strengths could be fetched from Solr instead of database, making it faster, real time (no need to run itemcounter) and thus obsole...
