On behalf of National Documentation Centre (EKT) / Hellenic Research Foundation, we have reviewed the new JSPUI look & feel of DSpace 4.0. Overall the new look and feel is really up to date and enhances the user experience. There are some minor issues we would like to report:
1) In community page (community-home.jsp), if there are no items in the selected community, the Recent Submissions box is displayed which affects the user experience (e.g. navigation dots and arrows fall over the text and rss links)
2) In procedures where the administrator selects an Eperson e.g (dspace-admin/edit-epeople) the encoding of the selected value is not correct (e.g. Nasia Manta (ama...@ekt.gr) for Nasia Manta (ama...@ekt.gr))
3) In submission process:
a) Required fields are not indicated (using an asterisk (*))
b) In repeatable input types, the text "Remove this entry" doesn’t fit inside the button (Google Chrome)
Also, there are some recommendations regarding the overall usability:
1) In Administration environment, there is no link for "Communities & Collections", which was present in previous versions of DSpace making it easier for the Administrator to manage the collections.
2) During submission process there are no links to homepage or elsewhere, so the user must first cancel/save the submission, validate the cancellation in order to be able to navigate in the repository
