Discussed today in a JIRA backlog review. We're unclear why we'd want to create separate commandline tools, when it seems like the REST API may be a better solution. So, this needs more details, etc. Logs of the brief discussion today: (1:06:34 PM) kompewter: [ https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS-1700 ] - [DS-1700] consistently extend CLI - DuraSpace JIRA (1:07:27 PM) tdonohue: this sounds like a "needs more details" to me. I'm not sure I understand why this is important, or the use cases in general. (Especially with the REST API) (1:07:53 PM) mhwood: I was thinking "use REST instead" (1:07:53 PM) tdonohue: I'm not against it...just needs better definition, and likely needs splitting up into many tickets (1:08:24 PM) tdonohue: well, maybe we mark "needs more details" & add a comment (which pastes in this discussion)? (1:08:37 PM) mhwood: Yeah. (1:08:40 PM) hpottinger: I *think* helix84 is looking for a command-line-friendly way to interact with the REST-API, and I respectfully submit that curl may be that tool :-) (1:09:19 PM) mhwood: curl, wget, LWP...lots of choices.
