As noted in the Jira issue, it costs almost nothing to stop making the problem worse. I suggest that we immediately alter the release process so that the documentation PDF is simply placed in the SourceForge download directory with the code archives, rather than placing these snapshots in the Github source repository. We should go back and place extracted PDFs in the earlier release directories, too.
