In cases where filter media is run nightly but you want to see immediate thumbnails or other results of filter media, you want to immediately invoke the filter media command. Right now this means starting the command from the command line. This does seem more of a repo manager task rather than a sys admin job. Therefore I propose to add UI functionality to call filter media for items, collections or communities directly from the UI. One way to tackle it would be through the Curation system, where other Mediafilter related improvements have been evaluated as well: https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACE/MediaFilter+Task+Suite
