Right now, this faulty namespace reference doesn't cause any problems because it isn't checked during the execution of assembly. But it's very clear that: - the link to the namespace is broken, doesn't resolve at all - even if it would resolve, it's the wrong namespace So this fix will ensure that we won't run into any mysterious assembly fail problems once the maven assembly plugin is bumped up to a higher version. The maven assembly plugin version 2.2.x uses the namespace http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-assembly-plugin/assembly/1.1.2 for an assembly descriptor instance as opposed to http://maven.apache.org/...
