I think there are a few people working on this, it would be outstanding if someone wanted to submit a PR to migrate existing code into DSpace proper. I've marked this as "low hanging fruit." Here is one example known to me: https://github.com/nye-duo/BagItLibrary

The SWORD spec supports multiple packaging formats, and there is existing Bagit ingester code "in the wild" so I'm opening this ticket now, to make it official, the DSpace SWORD server should be delivered with Bagit support.
