Wouldn't it make more sense to run "dspace dsrun org.dspace.browse.IndexBrowse -d -f", since "dspace dsrun org.dspace.browse.IndexBrowse -r -f" would re-create the tables? I would think it would re-fill them with data as well, but perhaps not if the Solr Browse Dao is selected. I've already cleaned the browse index (i.e. "bis") tables though. My question is regarding communities2item. Does this table have some role to play in DSpace 4.x? Hardy Pottinger seemed to think so in https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS-1920 The reporter of that bug pointed out that communities2item will also throw errors when deleting items when using Solr Browse Dao. Andrea, you recommended "delete from communities2item", which works...but I'm just wondering if it is a long-term solution? (In other words, will new items continue to populate this table? Is this table just used for browse indexes?) That's why I wondered about your commit and asked if it actually does anything since the "deleteCommunityMappings" method is empty.
