Dear DSpace Community,

The DSpace Committers team are delighted to announce a new member to the
group: Pascal-Nicolas Becker from Technische Universität Berlin. Please
join us in welcoming him!

Pascal is a Java Developer with eight years of repository experience.
Starting in 2006, he worked for the Cooperated Library Network
Berlin-Brandenburg where he was a member of the OPUS4 development team
and hosted more than 30 repository instances. Since 2012, Pascal has
been working for Technische Universität Berlin where he is helping to
build an institutional repository for research data and publications
based on DSpace. In 2014, he received his diploma in Computer Science.
As part of his thesis on bringing repositories into the Semantic Web, he
built an extension to add Linked (Open) Data support into DSpace
(https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS-2061).

In the DSpace 4.0 release, Pascal helped build DSpace's DOI
implementation and remote Handle Server functionality (see 4.0 Release
Notes: https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC4x/Release+Notes). Pascal
has also been active on lists, contributed numerous bug fixes, and is
planning to contribute additional features to 5.0 (e.g. an enhanced
JSPUI file upload using HTML5, https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS-1994).

We are always on the lookout for new developers, contributors, and
committers within the DSpace community. Anyone who would like to get
more involved is encouraged to do so. You are also welcome to contact us
at any time if you'd like some ideas of how to start contributing:

https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACE/DSpaceContributors

Contributions can take many forms, from writing code to editing
documentation, or testing new releases to designing new themes for our
user interfaces.

If you or someone you know has been an active DSpace contributor for
some time, you can also nominate that person to become our next
committer! Nomination details are available at:

https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACE/Committer+Nominations

Thanks,

The DSpace Committers Group
