This is possibly because that group is referenced somewhere. For example if that group has rights to deposit into a particular collection, then unless you first remove those rights, you will not be able to remove the group. If you look in your dspace.log file, there should be a copy of the reason for the error. > // How do I delete the anonymous group. If you don't want anonymous users to have access to your system, then make sure that you do not grant any privileges to the anonymous group.
