Hello Andre,
this is the metadata language qualifier, e.g. the language the title is in
and not the language of the content, this is dc.language.iso as metadata
itself.
The metadata language qualifier is defined in dspace.cfg as
default.language. Among other things the metadata language qualifier is
important for sorting and might be important in special crosswalks, where
the language qualifier is important.
