Dear Loren,

1. Tooltips are not included in DSpace by default, but can be included with
some customization. However, in the submission form automated messages
appear when people forgot to fill out mandatory fields.
2. By default, DSpace does not include an interface to perform operations on
multiple items at the same time. However, this is a feature of @mire's
commercial Metadata Quality Module <http://atmire.com/quality>.
3. Items support multiple bitstreams (files). They can all be included for
fulltext searching. Note that most metadata gets provided on the level of
the item (not on the level of the individual bitstream). So including more
granular metadata per bitstream would require a bit of customization.
4. You can include multiple languagefiles in your installation of DSpace. By
default, DSpace will look at the configured browser language and try to
serve the interface in that specific localization. If your DSpace doesn't
offer the preferred localization of the browser, it serves the default
(english, but you can also change that). Some instances have included a
button to switch the language manually, it shouldn't take too much time or
customization to do this.

with best regards,

Bram Luyten
