Hello,

in order to use the item importer with different metadata schemata, you
got to create
metadata_[YourSchemaName].xml within the item directory for each schema
used.
The file itself got the same content as dublin_core.xml.

So an import directory with an item containing metadata of the schema cc
importDir/item01/contents
importDir/item01/dublin_core.xml
importDir/item01/metadata_cc.xml
importDir/item01/foo1.pdf
importDir/item01/foo2.pdf
...

This is describe in the DSpace System Documentation, Section Item Importer
https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC/DSpace+Documentation

Hope that helps

Claudia Jürgen
