I don't know what to put inside the getAttribute("") function. Thank you for your response. Example: For a system administrator, it is: Boolean admin = (Boolean)request.getAttribute("is.admin"); boolean isAdmin = (admin == null ? false : admin.booleanValue()); ------------------------------ Message: 2 Date: Wed, 4 Apr 2012 08:31:07 -0500 From: Paul Go <[email protected]> Subject: [Dspace-general] Statistics: Collection sizes To: Dspace Tech list <[email protected]>, DSpace General Mailing List <[email protected]> Message-ID: <cagd4+evk7bd2x6usyxdwudknlmndpebvwtqvf-fnfo693kf...@mail.gmail.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Is there a way to get size statistics (disc space, number of items, number of objects, etc) per collection in DSpace? We're currently have about 10.000 items within our repository, but google scholar only index about 1/3 of them though all items are identical in dublin core format. So, if you are not running 1.7.0 or above, I'd recommend upgrading your DSpace in order to see improvements in Google Scholar indexing. For that 1.7.0 release, DSpace developers at MIT actually worked directly with the technology lead for Google Scholar to ensure DSpace content could be more discoverable via Google Scholar. However, it is worth noting that institutions may need to modify the configuration of the DSpace Google Scholar "mappings" if they have customized their local DSpace metadata schema in any way. Those instructions are in our DSpace Documentation at: https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC18/Google+Scholar+Metadata+Mappings DSpace also provides general hints/tips on ensuring that your institutions' DSpace installation is indexed/discoverable via Google (and other search engines) in general. Many of these tips were actually written/provided by Robert Tansley at Google (initial creator of DSpace). https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACE/Ensuring+your+instance+is+indexed Hopefully that will help, - Tim On 4/5/2012 11:05 PM, revskill wrote: > Hi everybody. The April KnowledgeBase drawing is on! Contribute to the DuraSpace KnowledgeBase to get your chance at a $100 Amazon gift card! Don't feel like an expert? You can still contribute content! There are many previously written resources (the DSpace Course or the Fedora Tutorials) that you can adapt/re-use (with proper attribution) and put into the KnowledgeBase format. To be eligible for the April drawing: 1) Select any topic from the KnowledgeBase outline (DSpace: https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSpaceKB/DSpace+KnowledgeBase or Fedora: https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/FedoraKB/Fedora+KnowledgeBase). 2) Either write one outline topic (or update existing materials from the DSpace Course or the Fedora Tutorials) or record a brief screencast which walks through a topic/concept. 3) Post your content to the KnowledgeBase by April 30, 2012. See below for sample content, links to previously written resources and more details or feel free to email me with any questions. Good luck!
