I frowned a bit when reading this:* Because affiliation is a property of the resource, rather than a creator, the fact that there is no way to correlate particular authors with their affiliations (when there are multiple authors) is not an issue.* This document might be outdated because the last version dates from 2005. However, I couldn't find a more recent one. If I'm not mistaking MARC21 treats this as a subfield for 100_. Using subfields in Dublin Core and DSpace is being done by quite a few institutions.
