Brent-

I'm not clear what you are asking with this question, so I'll just clarify
the relationship between DuraSpace and its projects:
DuraSpace is a non-profit organization that provides services to open
source projects and communities in the interest of helping the projects be
successful and sustainable. Our project work is supported by the
organizations using the software through the commitment of developer effort
and sponsorship contributions.

Last year we began working with the VIVO project with the intent of
incubating it as it transitions from a grant funded project to one that is
community supported. VIVO's work is very consistent with our mission of
advocating for access, discovery, and preservation of scholarly digital
content. There is some good synergy between its technologies and those of
our repository projects. Plus, there is a degree of overlap among the
institutions that use the various products. However, DuraSpace doesn't
necessarily aim to integrate the technologies represented by DSpace,
Fedora, and VIVO, or to dictate their functions. Those kinds of decisions
and other strategic directions are driven by the individual project
communities.

Hope that helps,
Jonathan
