The Agricultural Information Management Standards (AIMS) Community [1] is
pleased to announce a new webinar entitled “Automatic Indexing of Bibliographic
Metadata: The AgroTagger Usecase" [2]. The session will take place on the 27th
of March 2014 – 16:00 Rome Time [3] and will be presented by Dr. Fabrizio
Celli, information management specialist of the Food and Agriculture
Organization of the United Nations (FAO, Italy) [4].

ABOUT THE WEBINAR

The webinar will present the keyword extractor AgroTagger. AgroTagger is a tool
based on MAUI [5] that uses the AGROVOC thesaurus [6] as its set of allowable
keywords. It can read the fulltext of publications through the extraction of
related AGROVOC keywords.

The objective of this webinar is to provide an introduction to the
functionalities of applications for automatic indexing, and specifically of
AgroTagger. After explaining the need and advantages of automatically created
metadata, AgroTagger is presented as a keyword extractor that is working with
the agricultural thesaurus AGROVOC to enhance AGRIS [7] resources. Furthermore
the webinar will show the current and future developments of AgroTagger,
including a project of crawling the web to extract resources in the
agricultural domain.

The webinar addresses software developers, agricultural researchers,
librarians, information management specialists, agricultural journal editors,
related data providers, and other interested people.

The session is open to anyone but places are limited. If you are interested to
