******** Apologies for cross-posting ******** The Agricultural Information Management Standards (AIMS) Community [1] is pleased to announce a new webinar entitled “Automatic Indexing of Bibliographic Metadata: The AgroTagger Usecase" [2]. The session will take place on the 27th of March 2014 – 16:00 Rome Time [3] and will be presented by Dr. Fabrizio Celli, information management specialist of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO, Italy) [4].
ABOUT THE WEBINAR The webinar will present the keyword extractor AgroTagger. AgroTagger is a tool based on MAUI [5] that uses the AGROVOC thesaurus [6] as its set of allowable keywords. It can read the fulltext of publications through the extraction of related AGROVOC keywords. The objective of this webinar is to provide an introduction to the functionalities of applications for automatic indexing, and specifically of AgroTagger. After explaining the need and advantages of automatically created metadata, AgroTagger is presented as a keyword extractor that is working with the agricultural thesaurus AGROVOC to enhance AGRIS [7] resources. Furthermore the webinar will show the current and future developments of AgroTagger, including a project of crawling the web to extract resources in the agricultural domain. The webinar addresses software developers, agricultural researchers, librarians, information management specialists, agricultural journal editors, related data providers, and other interested people.
