That statistics tool you're trying to view is limited (total page views, as
opposed to views per Item / Bitstream), but here is some documentation to
get it to display the data. You'll have to run some nightly aggregation
tools, see this documentation:

The following is the recommended cron jobs to be run, so you will need to
contact your system administrator to set that up.
30 0 * * * [dspace]/bin/stat-monthly
35 0 * * * [dspace]/bin/stat-general
30 1 * * * [dspace]/bin/stat-report-monthly
35 1 * * * [dspace]/bin/stat-report-general
DSpace 1.6 also has support for SOLR Statistics. SOLR Statistics allows you
to see views per Community, Collection, and Item for the past 6 months. I
couldn't find the link for 1.6 Solr Statistics, but this might be helpful:

You could also look at Google Analytics, if you've had the tracking code on
your site.
If you were to upgrade, newer versions of DSpace add other statistics
options: DSpace 3+ adds Elastic Search Statistics. Elastic Search
statistics allows you to specify a date range, and view downloads for that
range, and graphs the results in charts, maps, and tables. Releasing later
this year, DSpace 5 will add Google Analytics Statistics Display inside of
DSpace.
