Dear Shashank,
 
Please do the following steps:
 
su -l postgres -c "createuser -U postgres -d -A -P dspace"

Passwd: dspace
 
su -l dspace -c "createdb -U dspace -E UNICODE dspace"
 
After this start postgres service
 
Then configure the dspace
 
dspace-src/dspace/config
cp dspace.cfg dspace.cfg.ori
vi dspace.cfg
